WALT find a fraction of a fraction

What is a 1/4 of a 1/4?
We took a quarter and divided it into 4 equal segments.

If we divided all of the quarters into 4 segments we would have 16 segments.
So 1/4 of 1/4 = 1/16

We noticed that 1 x 1 = 1
                         4 x 4 = 16
So 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/16

WALT multiply fractions by a whole number

3/4 X 32
We know 1/4 X 32 is 8 as 4 x 8 = 32
so 3 x 8 = 24
so 3/4 of 32 is 24
